Poetry of Regeneration: Reflections on the Waning Morality, Corrupt Education, Fading Love and Human Hypocrisy
Main Article Content
Abstract
The four poems collectively critique the moral and social decay of contemporary society. In “A Hypocritical Faith,” the poet exposes the contradiction between religious devotion and immoral behavior, highlighting how faith across religions has become superficial and hypocritical. “When Love Waning” portrays the erosion of genuine love, replaced by materialism, greed, and transactional relationships, leading to broken families and social instability. “Educate and Transform” emphasizes the decline of cultural values, traditions, and ethical education, arguing that modernity and misguided globalization have weakened moral foundations and identity. Finally, “Kick, the Deadly Philter” condemns the destructive impact of alcoholism, depicting how addiction devastates individuals, families, and entire communities. Together, the poems call for a return to sincerity in faith, restoration of love and compassion, revival of cultural values, and rejection of destructive habits to rebuild a humane and ethical society.
