Abstract

The coordination of Indian culture and modernity is important in the social principles of Deendayal Upadhyaya. His principle of "Integral Humanism" is based on the development and overall welfare of all sections of the society. Upadhyaya ji believed that the core of Indian culture lies in service to humanity and social unity, which presents a solution to the challenges of modernity. He used to promote the spirit of equality, brotherhood and harmony in the society. His viewpoint was that while adopting modernity, Indian cultural values should not be abandoned, but a balance should be maintained between the two. Upadhyaya ji presented solutions to the problems of the society by going to the roots of Indian society. He believed that development should not be only from an economic point of view, but should also focus on the social and cultural aspects of humanity. His principles are still relevant in Indian society, because they talk about development in the direction of modernity keeping in mind Indian culture. In this research paper, a holistic analysis of the social approach of Deendayal Upadhyaya will be done, so that a strong coordination can be established between culture and modernity in Indian society.
