In the framework of democratic practice, politicians, law enforcement officers, and academics are responsible for ensuring public safety; thus, they need to have a solid understanding of the crime trend. Using conceptual frameworks and actual data from diverse locations and election situations, the aim of this article is to present a comparative viewpoint on the analysis of crime and election time.
